Mod 2.1 – Avatar and avatar annotation

The image I have chosen to represent myself in my online presence is an image of a Flame Tree:

The reason I have chosen this image is because it represents the place where I was born, Mauritius, where this tree grows in abundance.  This tree grows in tropical regions which also represents the types of places I like to travel to.

This image was cropped from a larger image I photographed on my honeymoon in Vanuatu.  My permission is required before an image can be used so no Creative Commons license would apply to this image.

Darrell Lea - Father's Day Fete

Last weekend as we dropped the car off to the mechanic, we noticed the Father's Day Fete at Darrell Lea.

We ducked across the road to get amongst the fun - we sampled some sweet treats from several stalls, got some free merchandise and watched the kids having fun on the jumping castle, pony rides and playing other fun games.  

We then joined the long queue to get into the factory shop to buy some goodies to take home.  Whilst we were lining up a lady walked past selling raffle tickets to win some chocolate gift baskets - of course we bought some and crossed our fingers.

Once out of the shop with arms laden full of chocolate and lollies, we sat down to enjoy the sausage sizzle and some live music to while away some time so by the time we walked back across the road the car was ready.

So guess what happened today? I got a phone call from Darrell Leave to tell me that I won the $100 Fruit and Nut basket. Check it out, over 20 packets of yummy goodness!!
